"Why is funding being cut for Further Education and being directed for 16 - 19 year olds. A lot of problems are caused by schools failing pupils and it is them who should be penalised for their failings. Money should not be redirected to prop up the failings of schools and children!"

Kim Kersting:

"I'm very disappointed that several educational paths have been declared less 'important' due to the percieved saturation of students graduating from these courses. While it may be true that the country is lacking workers in certain specific areas, i feel it is wrong to use financial incentives to bully those with lower incomes or with a disadvantaged background into these positions. This leaves those with the money to pay still able to take the courses they will enjoy, and gives those above a ce"

caroline edmondson:

Susan Chester:

"Adult and Community education plays a vital role in preventing many in the community from becoming isolated. It promotes social interaction and health in mind and body."

Kay Bardsley :

"As a tutor I have been working with a group of women in Manningham Bradford - they have studied for 2 hours a week this year a "working with children" course and want to study a higher level course next year. They are all unemployed and want to develop skills to find employment but do not have the time or yet have the confidence to study a full level 2 course. They cannot afford to pay for their learning. Helen Forbes:

"The removal of funding from such a wide range of courses is short-sighted and will do nothing to widen participation and produce a population with rounded, transferable skills."

Lizzie Allen:

"I am very saddened by the continued erosion of adult education. Where is the outcry? Where is the debate? This is a national issue. Adult Education is an invaluable resource for the well being of our society."

Douglas Inglesent:

"Please would this government start listening to their electors."

Garry Turton:

"I am registered blind and without aid of adult education, I don't think it would be possible for people like me to try and find alternative employment."

andrea astin:

"It is ridiculous to put all funding into 14-19 year olds when they have just come out of school. Adults need training"

Cllr Martin Love:

"Education isn't just about under-18s, it is a lifelong process and funding and resources should reflect this."

clare mcmonagle:

"why ais this happening?"

Monica Little:

"Please grant a debate on Adult and Community Education and provide sufficient resources for a full range of community education courses."

Lawrence Welch:

"Yet another example of New Labour ignoring the needs of the least well off in the community"

Steven:

"I thinks cutting courses that are needed is pointless as in the end it just makes the government less popular and angers people."

Philip Knaggs:

"particularly The Grange Burley in Wharfedale"

angela kmon:

"I am appalled at college cuts re evening classes. I gained some of my best certifiates via evening classes. Does the Govt want a load of unemployable people in the next decade because they could not find extra tuition? also, evening classes should be free as well."

Cynthia Trasi:

"I am a housewife and will soon be an OAP. Adult Education classes help me keep sane and healthy, thus saving NHS spending."
